Strings

I'm lucky enough to have several guitars to play.  I guitar sit for good friends and they don't mind if I employ them in my musical mystery tour.  Which means I can experiment with tunings and strings.  

I have been playing a lot of open D.  But one of my guitars just had too much buzzing on the low notes.  So I started investigating stings.  WOW there's a lot of information out there about strings.   

The bottom line is this... Higher tension strings are thicker but they can be tuned lower and maintain an adequate tension for tuning.  On the other hand they are also usually brighter which is a good thing for me as a male vocalist.  The trade off is that they can be just a little harder to play.
